Zigzag Grounding Transformer, 6–35 kV (Um 40.5 kV), 50 kVA–2 MVA — ZN/ZG

An ungrounded or delta system needs somewhere for earth-fault current to return. The ZN zigzag winding creates a neutral point with low zero-sequence impedance, allowing a resistor or reactor to be connected for controlled earth-fault current — the standard way to limit fault damage and stabilise protection on industrial MV networks.
