Rendering A fully cast unit is not always the most economical answer. In the semi-encapsulated construction the HV winding is vacuum cast while the LV winding is impregnated and encapsulated separately, which simplifies manufacture and maintenance access while retaining the flame-retardant, moisture-resistant behaviour indoors.
